COBRA Junior Swim Club Program Details
JSC Program Timing
All Junior Swim Club lessons are one hour long, from September to June, comprising 32 lessons in total.
Throughout July and August, we offer an 8-lesson program with two variations: a consecutive 8-day program running Monday-Thursday for two weeks, or a once-a-week 8-week program.
Junior Swim Club Prerequisites
To join JSC, swimmers are required to undergo a 5-minute assessment with one of our supervisors. Assessment prerequisites include swimmers aged 5-8 showcasing the ability to swim independently up to 15 meters, and swimmers aged 9-12 demonstrating independent swimming up to 25 meters, including the deep end. Junior Swim Club Level Descriptions
PRE-LEVEL: Designed for swimmers aged 5-7 who are eager to grasp the fundamentals of
competitive swimming. This program introduces Jr. athletes to the basics of freestyle and backstroke,
emphasizing independent swimming. The prerequisite for the pre-level is the ability to swim
independently for 15 meters. Class Ratio- 5:1
LEVEL 1: Designed for swimmers aged 5-10, this level focuses on developing proper technique and
stroke proficiency in freestyle and backstroke. Jr. athletes will also be introduced to the fundamentals of
breaststroke kick and breaststroke arms separately. The prerequisite for Level 1 is the ability to swim 25
meters independently. Class Ratio- 6:1
LEVEL 2: Designed for swimmers aged 5-11, this level continues to refine freestyle and backstroke
techniques, emphasizing kicking and enhancing swimming endurance. Breaststroke is introduced with a
concentration on timing and efficiency. Jr. athletes will also learn the basics of butterfly arms and legs
separately. The prerequisite for Level 2 includes an endurance of 50 meters, demonstrated stroke
efficiency in freestyle and backstroke, and proper whip kick technique. Class Ratio- 8:1
LEVEL 3: Designed for swimmers aged 5-12, this level focuses on advanced skills, including
competitive dives, turns, and evaluating proper technique during sprints. The Individual Medley (IM) is
introduced, encompassing all four strokes in the correct order. The prerequisite for Level 3 includes, but
is not limited to, demonstrated stroke efficiency in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke, as well as an
endurance of 200 meters. Class Ratio- 12:1
